91黑料 has welcomed the passage of the Commonwealth Government鈥檚 Climate Change Bill through the House of Representatives.

鈥漌e welcome the passage of this Bill through the House of Representatives today,鈥 said Deanne Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of 91黑料.听

鈥漈his is important and historic legislation and, for a major institutional investor like us, it will provide certainty in the medium term to help guide investment decisions on behalf of our members

鈥91黑料 has more than $1 billion of members鈥 retirement savings invested in renewable energy and technologies to help address the impacts of human-induced global heating 鈥 much of it offshore.

鈥淓nshrining Australia鈥檚 emissions reduction targets in legislation will go some way towards creating a more certain domestic investment environment, enabling Australians鈥 retirement savings to be invested in high-quality opportunities here in our own backyard.听

鈥淲e keenly await the passage of this Bill through the Senate in due course.鈥澨
